iERA’s Chairman, Abdurraheem Green, wins Chief Constable’s Award

Chairman of iERA, Abdurraheem Green won the Chief Constable’s Award at a Ceremony at the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth on Wednesday 6th May 2009.

The ceremony took place to recognise the outstanding work carried out by members of the public in order to build community cohesion.

Mr. Green helped set up the Plymouth Islamic Education Trust (Piety) which has worked hard to build greater harmony between different communities in Plymouth. Piety runs a number of schemes such as a street clean-up campaign, a befriending scheme for the elderly and invited Christian church-goers, local neighbours and councillors to have lunch with them at a restaurant in the city centre.
